Han Dynasty terra-cotta standing soldier. Remnants of the original pigment can been seen over entire forges body. Overall in great original conditions with old repairs customary for such a piece.

The figures, dating from approximately the late third century BC were discovered in 1974 by local farmers in Lintong County, outside Xi’an, Shaanxi, China. The figures vary in height according to their roles, with the tallest being the generals.
The Han dynasty was the second imperial dynasty of China Dating from (206 BC–220 AD).

Han period is considered a golden age in Chinese history.

The emperor was at the pinnacle of Han society. He presided over the Han government but shared power with both the nobility and appointed ministers who came largely from the scholarly gentry class.
