Description

Antique Chinese vase with a raised water dragon on both front and back. Faceted sides are decorated with auspicious symbols. The sculpting of the dragons and other motifs is very 3 dimensional. The vase is glazed yellow, white, and aubergine on a rich green ground. The bottom of the vase is incised with the word “China”. This was a requirement of all Chinese porcelain imported into the United States as early as 1890 and in accordance with the Stamp Act of 1894.
