An antique Japanese Nagoya Mizuya Tansu (kitchen chest) in 2 sections made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Keyaki (Zelkova) woods. All original bronze hardware. Upper section has 4 sliding doors with 2 sliding doors below and 3 side by side drawers. The lower section has 2 sliding doors with 2 side by side drawers below. Originally used to store large jars of water for cooking and storage for plates, dishes, cookware and eating utensils.

Age: Meiji Period (1900-1910)

Dimensions: 41 1/4″ Wide by 64 3/4″ High by 18 1/2″ Deep
