Description

A pair of Chinese bamboo horseshoe chairs, of steam bent, tied, pegged and notched construction. The continuous horseshoe rail and arm rest has tied, cane split bamboo throughout the furniture. It is made to secure and create a decorative pattern. The open back slat frame has a geometric Shou pattern and a double happiness motif. The woven rattan seated is hard mounted on wood, front apron bent with four bamboo forming the square seat. The four bamboo legs of the chair are connected with a wooden stretcher and bent bamboo with split cane fastened together.
