Antique Chinese scroll painting showing arrangements of chrysanthemums in baskets by the artist, Li Fengting 李楓廷 (1884-1967).
Li was born in Dongguan (in Guangdong province). He received his first lessons in poetry and painting from his father. He soon set up his own art school and sculpture workshop and was a master craftsman. He also specialized in seal-carving and was a connoisseur of ancient jade and bronze wares. In 1923, Li and his fellow artists established Guihai Year Co-operative in Guangzhou, which later expanded into the Guangdong Painting Society. In the late 1940s, Li settled permanently in Hong Kong.
Painted in mineral colors on silk. Mounted as a scroll.

Dimensions: Scroll size: 67″ high x 17 1/2″ wide. Size of art: 39 1/2″ high x 13″ wide.
