An antique Philippine Ifugao tribal transport basket incorporating a shoulder and back rain protector. Made of rattan and bamboo, this piece acquired a beautiful sooted patina over its lifetime of use. The rain protector was made using layers of thinly thatched bamboo fiber creating a water resistant fur-like construction for weather protection from jungle travel. Hidden bamboo woven rope chain for hanging to dry.
