Description
An antique Japanese tansu chest called Kannon Biraki that was made entirely from Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware and aged patina. Warabite style handles hand forged in iron. Upper section features 2 hinged doors that open and reveals a large drawer for the main wedding kimono, a medium drawer that stored the wedding obi and two small drawers that held the hair ornaments and other accoutrements. The bottom section has two large drawers where additional wedding accessories were kept.
