Description
Antique Japanese small bar tansu. The bar has wrought iron fittings with a working locking mechanism. It is decorated with two floral pieces. The bar functioned to keep the drawers closed during transportation. The wood is finished with a lacquered surface. Edo or Meiji period, circa 1860. It measures 24″ wide 14.5″ deep 27″ deep.
