Description
An antique Japanese Ko Tansu (document chest) made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware including the unusual side carrying handles which when swiveled up, allowed a wooden pole through it allowing two persons to transport it. Straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nail construction.
Age: Meiji period (1880-1890)
