An antique Indian architectural hardwood fragment. Depicts the central figures of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with their offspring Lord Kartikeya (the God of War) on their right and Ganesha on their left. Ganesha is the elephant headed God known as the Remover of Obstacles. He as also shown to the far left on his vehicle, a mouse. The far right is another larger depiction of Kartikeya on his vehicle, the peacock. Between these main figures are both worldly and celestial beings including Yakshis, beautiful female spirits of nature.
