Description
Pair of antique Chinese porcelain bowls with hardwood stands, with a beautiful pale blue underglaze background, with Famille rose overglaze motifs of lotuses, censors, and various household objects with auspicious elements. The interior of each bowl has five lucky bats surrounding a Shou symbol, to bring blessings of luck and happiness. The rim is gilt, directly below are red, geometric patterns. Red mark on bottom reading “A treasured collection of the House of Gold and Jade”, Ching Dynasty, Tung-Chih reign (1862-1875). Has the original purchase document dated 30th November 1991 for 17,800 HK dollars.
