Description
An antique Ming dynasty Chinese painting table made entirely Jumu wood. Upper surface has a floating panel with time honored wood shrinkage surrounded by a mitered corner frame. The front apron has a Lingzhi carved pattern. Four splayed legs with the Ming era square mitered detail as shown in the book Classic Chinese Furniture by Wang Shixiang. The wood color has changed to a beautiful Chestnut gold with the underside showing its original condition and patina. A pair of leg stretchers on each side of the table provide strength and support.
