Description

Beautiful jade jar with elaborately detailed carvings of a large taotie motif, or “gluttonous ogre mask”, a face motif without a lower jaw area, on its front and back, two carved handles shaped like beasts’ heads with agate rings, carved chevron designs above and below the lid, topped with a floral finial. The jar comes with a hardwood stand.
