Description

Pair of Dutch antique porcelain Delft ware fish plates. Rectangular in form and glazed with traditional blue palate. Used for serving herring, this design dates from the 1880’s. These two herring plates were made in the Delft workshop by two different artists. The marks on the bottom include the factory mark, (below running right to left) the artist’s initials, the date code, and the item number.
