An antique Japanese large Choba Tansu (merchant chest) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Hinoki (Cypress) woods. Four large drawers for merchant textile storage on the left and seven utility drawers with 2 sliding doors and a hinged door hiding 2 small drawers on the right side. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Hikute style handles. Originates from the Osaka region of Japan.Perfect for use as a buffet chest or sideboard.

Age: Meiji Era (1880-1890)
