Description
An original painting by Mayumi Oda depicting a goddess holding an infant in one harm and a branch with pomegranates in the other. On her knee is a sleeping child. Painted in black ink on paper and signed in pencil along with a title “Hariti” and “for Yvonn and Bill”.
HÄrÄ«tÄ« (in Japanese, Kishi-mojin) was once an ogress but was shown a better path by the Buddha. She is known as a protector of children and women in childbirth.
