Low Korean scholar book chest with dual bi-foldable doors behind which is a spacious book storage area with 4 side by side drawers above. The drawers are decorated with floral Sweet Peas. The doors are decorated in the four seasons with pairs of cranes and turtles symbolizing marital harmony, longevity and wealth. Mother of Pearl over black lacquer creating the micro-mosaic detailed inlay. The sides display a rustic landscape scene. A secret storage area where scholar paintings and documents were kept. Complete with lock and key.
