Description
A pair of Japanese antique ranma carved with detailed scenes of pine trees surrounded by tendrils of swirling mist. The frame of each ranma is lacquered black and red. Both sides of each ranma is beautifully carved.
Ranma (transoms) were used in Japan typically above the fusuma sliding doors between rooms to provide air circulation and comfort especially during the hot summer months in Japan.
