Antique Korean bowl from the Chosun Bunchung period, 16th century. The bowl has a spiral like pattern left in the clay showing the bowl was done on a wheel. It measures 5.5″ wide 4″ tall. This bowl came from the collection of George C. Heikes and Myung-ja Heikes. Their collection was assembled from 1963-1964 when Mr. Heikes was working as a mining engineer and geologist for the US Government in Seoul, Korea. “George Conrad Heikes, Mining Geologist on Four Continents” book at the UC Berkeley Bancroft Library, catalogs the collection.
