Description
Antique Tibetan painted cabinet featuring beautifully hand-painted floral panels set against a vibrant red ground. The facade is divided into multiple framed panels, each decorated with stylized blossoms, foliage, and delicate botanical motifs rendered in yellow, green, blue, and black pigments. These floral designs were commonly inspired by lotus and peony forms, both symbols of prosperity, harmony, and spiritual purity within Tibetan and Himalayan artistic traditions.
Constructed of Himalayan softwood with a traditional plank-top form, the cabinet reflects the practical yet decorative furniture style found in Tibetan homes and monasteries. The panel construction and thick framing provided structural strength while also creating a grid that artisans used as a canvas for decorative painting. The lower section displays darker painted scrolling patterns that contrast beautifully with the vibrant floral panels above.
