An antique Japanese all Kiri (Paulownia) wood Kasane Tansu (stacking chest on chest) with original hand forged iron hardware. Beautiful natural wood grain with a three dimensional texture. Side handles on both sections used for carrying from place to place.

Originally used as a storage chest for Japanese kimono, its contemporary function can be used as a dresser drawer, a linen chest or a pair of nightstands (space permitting).

Age: Mid Meiji Era (1880-1890)

Dimensions: 38″ Wide by 40 1/2″ High by 16 3/8″ Deep
