Antique Japanese Zenga scroll painting. Calligraphy in long, vertical composition in ink on paper. The artist's name is Nukina Kaioku (1778–1863), signing this one as 菘翁 Sūō. (The first character means 'field-mustard', or sometimes 'turnip'; the second means 'old man'.) Signed, sealed and with original signed box.
